Log in to the Jio Portal. Navigate to Resources → Marketplace → Products. Select a profile, search for your Linux Virtual Machine. Click Provision and fill in the configuration details and submit your request.
Jio offers the latest supported versions of Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, ensuring flexibility and compatibility for diverse workloads.
Jio offers VM configurations starting from 2 vCPUs up to 64 vCPUs and RAM ratios of 1:2, 1:4, and 1:8, with Up to 256 GB memory to support workloads, from basic applications to high-performance computing.
Jio maintains a 1:2 core-to-vCPU oversubscription ratio, balancing optimal performance with efficient resource use.
Each Virtual Machine includes the selected vCPU and memory configuration, and OS Disk.
The default OS disk size is 100 GB for both Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu VMs to ensure optimal performance and OS functionality.
Using the Resize VM option in the Portal under Resources → My Resources → Compute → MACD → Resize VM Note: The VM will reboot during this operation, and the new configuration will be applied as selected.
You can access VMs as follows:
Prerequisite - VPN IP should be whitelisted for Bastion Host over SSH.
Option 1- Access with Putty (Open Putty and Enter the private IP of the VM)
Option 2 - Access with Console (Go to Resources->My Resources -> Compute -> All -> Select the virtual machine and launch Console).
A Bastion Host is a secure gateway server used to access virtual machines in a private network. It enhances security by reducing exposure and enabling audited access.
You can view your VM status in the Jio Portal at Resources → My Resources → Compute → All → Search for Virtual Machine → Click on the Asset to see the current state.
