<li>To enjoy better internet speeds, make sure you latch on to the right Wi-Fi band.</li>
<li>The 5 GHz band gives you faster speed but has a lesser range. Select this band if your device is closer to the Wi-Fi Router.</li>
<li>The 2.4 GHz Band provides better coverage compared to 5 GHz, although the speed may not be as high. Choose this if your device is further away from the router.</li>

<li>Disconnect or pause unused devices to reserve bandwidth for critical tasks.</li>

Limit the number of devices using Wi-Fi

Do not bend the JioHome cable behind your Jio Home Gateway (Router), as a bend can lead to connectivity issues and a reduction of speed over time. We also recommend not to move the Jio Home Gateway (Router) frequently as this might end up damaging the JioHome cable.

<li>Wi-Fi signals spread outward and slightly downward from the router. </li>
<li>Placing your router on a high shelf or a table ensures the signal is transmitted over the widest possible area and avoids obstacles like furniture. </li>
<li>Avoid placing the router on the floor, as this significantly reduces coverage and signal strength. </li>

<li>Common household appliances like microwaves, cordless phones, and Bluetooth speakers operate on frequencies (often 2.4GHz) that can directly interfere with your Wi-Fi signal. </li>
<li>To prevent disruption and slow speeds, position your router at least several feet away from these devices and any large metal objects.</li>

<li>Avoid using your name, date of birth, child’s name, etc.</li>

<li>Remember, when you change your password, you have to change it across all the connected devices to avoid internet interruptions.</li>

<li>Block unauthorised users/devices connected to your Jio Home Gateway (Router)<br>

<li>When a device gets connected to your Jio Home Gateway (Router), it gets added to the list of paired devices. You will also get an SMS on your Registered Mobile Number. You can view the list of paired devices in the ‘My Device’ option <a href="https://www.jio.com/dl/ps_manage_device?fc=fiber&amp;FC=JioFiber">here</a>.</li>
<li>In case you wish to remove any device, tap on ‘Block devices’, and select those devices that are unknown to you. Only allow those devices to which you want to provide access. This feature can be used to avoid unauthorised data usage.</li>

<li>Using the WPS option wisely<br>

<li>WPS termed as 'Wi-Fi Protected Setup' is an easy-to-use feature where a Wi-Fi device can be connected to your Jio Home Gateway (Router) by pressing the physical WPS switch at the back of Jio Home Gateway (Router). While it is simple to use this feature, at the same time, the user can connect to your Jio Home Gateway (Router) directly (if they have physical access to your Jio Home Gateway (Router)). Please ensure if this feature is not being used, you can turn off this feature by logging in to MyJio and using the ‘My Device’ option.</li>

<li>Hide your Wi-Fi name from others<br>
<ul class="type-disc">
<li>My Jio also provides you with the functionality to turn off the visibility of SSID. This feature is very helpful when in case you don’t want anyone to connect to your Jio Home Gateway (Router) Wi-Fi ID. When you turn off the visibility any user (new device) who will try to search for a Wi-Fi network will not be able to see your Jio Home Gateway (Router) SSID. However, please note that the already connected devices will remain connected to your Jio Home Gateway (Router) SSID. You can hide SSIDs (Wi-Fi Username) by logging in to MyJio and using ‘Advance Setting’ under the ‘My Device’ option. Use the toggle button to hide/unhide the SSIDs.</li>

Important Tips To Keep Your JioHome Connection Secure


<div class="pad--top pt-2">If OTT apps not working on your Jio Set-top Box, please follow the below steps to solve common app-related issues on your Jio Set-top Box.<br>

<li>Go to the MyJio app and check the 'My Plan' section to ensure you have an active OTT subscription</li>

<li>Press ‘Home’ on your Jio STB Remote and select 'Settings' on the home screen</li>

<li>Select 'Applications' and then go to 'Downloaded Apps'</li>

<li>Select the desired app and opt for 'Clear Cache' and 'Clear Data'<br>
[Note: For Amazon &amp; Netflix apps, if you do ‘Clear Data’, you'll have to log in again with your credentials]</li>

<li>Relaunch the OTT app and check</li>

<li>If it still doesn’t work, try restarting your Jio Home Gateway and Jio Set-top Box</li>

Quick Fixes for OTT Apps on Jio Set-Top Box

<div class="pad--top pt-2">You can watch most of the bundled OTT apps on your mobile devices/website/smart TVs with your existing JioHome subscription using your JioHome Registered Mobile Number as a Username. Apart from Netflix and Amazon, all the other bundled OTT apps need to be launched first on Jio Set-top Box, once in every recharge/billing cycle for it to work on other devices.
